To celebrate the Lunar New Year, NAAAP Philly hosted a food tasting gala to benefit the NAAAP Philadelphia Scholarship Program. With maroon and off-white paper lanterns hanging overhead and the clear night sky peeking through the wall-size windows, the Loews Hotel Millennium Ballroom provided an elegant milieu for the evening’s festivities to over 200 guests.
Over thirty of Philadelphia's top restaurants and beverage vendors, including the best Chinese restaurant in America, Yang Ming, and the first premium Chinese wine, Dragon’s Hollow, tantalized guests’ taste buds with an array of Eastern flavors. Attendees also received party favors in red envelopes to ring in the Year of the Rabbit.
Nydia Han of 6ABC Action News emceed the event and entertainment included a traditional Chinese lion dance and a silent auction. Nydia Han recognized the 2010 winners of the NAAAP Philadelphia Scholarship Program and announced the 2011 application cycle.
