NAAAP Philadelphia Elections
It's that time of year again! NAAAP Philadelphia will be holding Annual Officers Election for 2012 Term. The President Election is postponed to 1st quarter of 2012.
About the Election
The NAAAP Philadelphia Board will select the Executive Vice President and Vice President based on applications submitted by December 3 and interviews conducted on December 10.
Open Positions
Vice President, Collegiate Relations (Term = 1 year)
Vice President, Corporate Relations (Term = 1 year)
Vice President, Non-Profit Relations (Term = 1 year)
Vice President, Small Business Relations (Term = 1 year)
Executive Vice President (Term = 2 year)
Desired Qualifications
Vice President/Executive Vice President
- Member of NAAAP Philadelphia in good standing.
- Aged 21 and over.
- Professional or volunteer leadership experience.
- Recommended previous NAAAP Philadelphia leadership experience.
- We require two nominations by NAAAP Philadelphia members in good standing and a completed application.

Roles and Responsibilities
Executive Vice President
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage operation team including Programming, Marketing, Information Technology, and Member Services.
- Coach and recruit the operation team to provide support and resources to all business units.
- Act as primary liaison between NAAAP Philadelphia President and the entire operation team.
- Create succession/business plan on an annual basis.
- Check and reply to NAAAP Philadelphia e-mails daily.
- Attend monthly NAAAP Synergy and Hours of Power Meetings
Vice President, Corporate Relations
Target Market: Corporations and Corporate Employees
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and lead Corporate Relations Committee.
- Establish and maintain relationship with corporate sponsors and affinity groups.
- Create and host professional development events.
- Act as primary liaison between NAAAP Philadelphia President/Officers and business unit.
- Create succession/business plan on an annual basis.
- Check and reply to NAAAP Philadelphia emails daily.
- Attend monthly NAAAP Synergy and Hours of Power meetings.
Vice President, Collegiate Relations
Target Market: College Students & Graduate Students
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and run Resume Critique and Mock Phone Interview programs. Programs are live during academic year only.
- Execute annual scholarship program benefiting high school and college students.
- Work with Assistant Vice President to bring to market career panels and other college-focused events.
- Liaise with colleges.
- Act as primary liaison between NAAAP Philadelphia President/Officers and business unit.
- Create succession/business plan on an annual basis.
- Check and reply to NAAAP Philadelphia emails daily.
- Attend monthly NAAAP Synergy and Hours of Power meetings.
Vice President, Non-Profit Relations
Target Market: Community Service Volunteers, Non-Profit Employees, Civic Leaders and Future Civic Leaders
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, nonprofit employees, volunteer groups, etc.
- Lead and Mentor Assistant Vice President, Senior Operations Manager, Senior Programs Manager, and Senior Events Manager.
- Assist with NAAAP-BBBS Prodigy Program as necessary.
- Enable Assistant Vice President and Senior Managers to produce innovative programs and events focused on the development of civic leaders and community service.
- Create/refine annual business plan articulating the vision and goals of the unit.
- Act as primary liaison between NAAAP Philadelphia President/Officers and business unit.
- Create succession/business plan on an annual basis.
- Check and reply to NAAAP Philadelphia emails daily.
- Attend monthly NAAAP Synergy and Hours of Power meetings.
Vice President, Small Business Relations
Target Market: Small Business Owners
Key Responsibilities:
- Create business workshops that educate and develop small business owners.
- Read business news regularly to stay informed about local and national small business happenings.
- Work closely with the minority Small Business Association representative in Philadelphia.
- Identify small businesses that are potential candidates for sponsorships.
- Maintain small business owner profiles.
- Act as primary liaison between NAAAP Philadelphia President/Officers and business
- Create succession/business plan on an annual basis.
- Check and reply to NAAAP Philadelphia emails daily.
- Attend monthly NAAAP Synergy and Hours of Power meetings.
How to Apply
Vice President/Executive Vice President applicants should submit a professional resume and an optional additional page listing nonprofit and/or related leadership roles/accomplishments to elections@naaapphilly.org. Two NAAAP Philadelphia members should also email elections@naaapphilly.org to nominate a Vice President/Executive Vice President candidate. All nominees will be notified of their nomination. Vice President/Executive Vice President candidates with a completed application will interview with the Board. The Board will make the final selection of Vice Presidents/Executive Vice President based on interviews and applications.
