Hyun is an Account Manager at StarCite, Inc. In 2004, Hyun was recruited to join the Philadelphia chapter of National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP). In 2005, she was asked to join the Board and serve as the Membership Committee Chair. In 2006, Hyun co-chaired the NAAAP National Retreat held in Philadelphia. In 2008, Hyun served as the National Representative of NAAAP Philadelphia, and in 2009, she served as the Vice President of Corporate Relations. Currently, Hyun serves as the Executive Vice President of NAAAP Philadelphia. Hyun has also served on the boards of: Asian American Women’s Coalition (AAWC) from 2004 – 2008, Asian Arts Initiative (AAI) from 2006 – 2007, Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art from 2006 - 2008, and Philadelphia Cultural Fund from 2007 - now. Hyun has always volunteered with her church growing up and often organizes events and community efforts at her church. She has participated in Habitat for Humanity in South Korea in summer of 2001 and in New Orleans, LA in summer of 2008. In 2006, Hyun was an Emerging Leader Finalist for eWomenNetwork Foundation. Tom is currently a Process Development Consultant at the Rutgers Food Innovation Center, Bridgeton, NJ; a unit of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station at Rutgers University, a unique business incubation and economic development accelerator program. Tom is also an adjunct faculty at Philadelphia University; teaching supply chain management, and participated in Short Study Abroad Program to Shanghai, Shenzhen & Hong Kong, China. Tom completed 29 years of service with the Campbell Soup Company. Formerly as Director of Operations for North American Foodservice Division, Tom managed all aspects of the supply chain, with direct impact to profit and loss. He was a key liaison between product development and marketing with over 30 manufacturing plants in North America, supporting product commercialization, capital budgeting, technology assessment, and lean manufacturing. Tom has held positions of increasing responsibility within various corporate functions: Process Engineering, Strategic Planning, and Global Operations; as well as overseas assignments in England, Japan and South Korea. Tom has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; MBA from Temple Fox School, and MS in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the Temple University CIBER Advisory Board (http://www.fox.temple.edu/ciber/board.htm) since 2003. Tom’s vision for NAAAP Philadelphia is promoting inclusion and innovation. "No matter who you are, you're going to have to work with people who are different from you. You're going to have to sell to people who are different from you, and buy from people who are different from you, and manage people who are different from you . . . ." Inclusion is not the mother of invention, but rather the catalyst for innovations; diversity is a fundamental business strategy. Joe is a full time REALTORĀ® in the state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In PA, he hangs his license at Century 21 Target Realty, which specializes in the Asian market throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area with offices located in South Philly and Northeast Philly. He is with Century 21 Alliance in the Cherry Hill office. C21 Alliance has eleven offices dispersed throughout South Jersey. Joe started in his career as a business broker and loan officer. With this string of experience, he is able to offer his clients a broad range of service and provides valuable advice and insight into the residential and commercial markets. In 2004, Joe co-founded the National Association of Asian American Professionals- Philadelphia (NAAAP Philly) and currently serves as Board Member. His dedication to the Asian community is evident in his continuous involvement since high school as a volunteer tutor to Korean immigrant students in English and Math. Since then, he’s held various leadership titles in Asian organizations in and out of school. Joe also holds the position of President with the Cultural Alliance International (CAI), a non-profit dedicated to bringing cultural awareness to the Delaware Valley through events that help to promote and support cultural diversity. Lingan is a Sr. Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin focused on design, implementation and deployment of software for large scale programs. Along with 10 years of professional experience, Lingan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Lehigh University and a M.S. in Information Science from Penn State. Carol Wong has been an advisory board member since NAAAP Philadelphia was founded in 2004. Carol is the Director and owner of the Chinatown Learning Center, a bilingual preschool and after school program that she founded 16 years ago. As Vice-President and Executive Board Member for the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC), Carol addresses affordable housing and community development issues in Chinatown. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Asian American Women's Coalition (AAWC), which promotes the advancement of Asian American women through leadership and mutual support. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia SUNS, a youth basketball and Lion Dance organization, and On Lok House, a senior housing and community center. Carol proudly serves on the Board for the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC). She is also a member of Soroptomist International of Indian Rock, an organization focused on making a difference for women through volunteer service. She was the past President of the Asian American Women's Coalition (2004-2005) and now serves as a Board member. She has served as the Secretary of OCA-Greater Philadelphia (Organization of Chinese Americans) for the past four years. Jenny is particularly interested in for and non-profit organizations that improve the lives of Asian Americans living in the greater Philadelphia area. Ms. Woo has oversight of SEI Global Fixed Income Management’s credit process. Ms. Woo is also responsible for reviewing and monitoring new and existing credits and making investment recommendations for the Fixed Income Management Team. Prior to joining SEI, Ms. Woo was a Senior Credit Analyst with John Hancock Money Market Group focusing on investment grade and asset-backed securities and a Senior Business Analyst within Liberty Mutual Group’s Strategy and Planning Group for Corporate Real Estate and Administration. Steven Suh currently works for Shire Pharmaceuticals as a supply chain manager optimizing the inventory levels and distribution channels of one of Shire’s key corporate brands. He previously worked at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals as a supply chain planner for its Oncology portfolio and developed valuable experience managing some of AstraZeneca’s top contract customers. Esther Lee is currently a project manager at Chatham Financial Corporation, a global derivatives consulting firm. In this role, she improved the company's risk management accountability structure to reduce documentation risk by over 95%. Previous to her current role as project manager, Esther worked as a consultant, advising Opportunity Funds and Private Equity firms. As a consultant, Esther managed a foreign exchange spot program, executing foreign exchange trades ranging in notional from USD 1 million to USD 1 billion. Vil Vongphrachanh is the founder and CEO of FinanceMyEquipment.com, a company founded in 2008 that specializes in equipment financing across the U.S. In her role as an equipment finance consultant, Vil works closely with equipment vendors and manufacturers to assist their customers with financing their equipment. Prior to her current role, Vil worked for Citizens Financial Group, Co-Activ Capital Partner, De Lage Landen Financial Services, and Tokai Financial Services. For 5 years, she worked alongside the “pioneers and experts” of her industry, giving her the confidence and knowledge to run her business. Vil is an expert in the Medical and Banking areas of her equipment financing industry. Her previous partnerships include Toshiba Medical, Abbott Laboratories, Beckman Coulter, Invacare, Sunrise Medical, Airsep, Citizens Bank (RI), East West Bank, Capital One, and Commerce Bank. As the Vice President of Small Business Relations for 2010, Vil aims to set the foundation and precedent for the small business unit within NAAAP Philadelphia. Erica Chen is currently a traffic coordinator at Bank of America’s in-house advertising agency, Enterprise Creative Solutions. In this role, she oversees the details and processes behind each project in an effort to maximize efficiency and mitigate project risk, engaging in the agency workflow from the beginning and seeing every job to its completion. She is also the communications lead for the Asian Leadership Network Delaware Valley Chapter, a local employee resource group within the bank where she manages their website, newsletters, as well as all forms of advertising. Previous to her current role, she had interned for the Ronald McDonald House and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. Assistant Director of Member Services Ying Chen ying.chen@naaapphilly.org Assistant Director of Internal Relations and Events Coordinator George Ho george.ho@naaapphilly.org Read biography George is originally from Central NJ, doing his graduate and undergraduate work at Rutgers University with a Master's Degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. He now works as a research scientist at Johnson & Johnson in their rigorous Drug Discovery program. Being new to the Philadelphia Area, George joined NAAAP in early 2008 seeking to build a rich diverse network of Asian peers. He quickly became involved with the Sports & Social committee and began organizing and coordinating sporting and social events. This gave members a chance to interact and network in a less formal atmosphere and generated opportunities for members to create memorable experiences together. His play hard, work hard style and charmingly disarming attitude makes him quite a character on the team. As events coordinator, George will interface with all the VPs to ensure everyone delivers exciting new programs and events. He will also oversee the development and employment of online tools, ie Facebook and Meetup. In his off time, George enjoys snowboarding, vegetating with Video Games, eating like a crazed hyena, and talking/typing about himself.
