Joe is a full time REALTOR® in the state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In PA, he hangs his license at Century 21 Target Realty, which specializes in the Asian market throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area with offices located in South Philly and Northeast Philly. He is with Century 21 Alliance in the Cherry Hill office. C21 Alliance has eleven offices dispersed throughout South Jersey. Joe started in his career as a business broker and loan officer. With this string of experience, he is able to offer his clients a broad range of service and provides valuable advice and insight into the residential and commercial markets.

In 2004, Joe co-founded the National Association of Asian American Professionals- Philadelphia (NAAAP Philly) and currently serves as President. His dedication to the Asian community is evident in his continuous involvement since high school as a volunteer tutor to Korean immigrant students in English and Math. Since then, he’s been held various leadership titles in Asian organizations in and out of school. Joe also holds the position of President with the Cultural Alliance International (CAI), a non-profit dedicated to bringing cultural awareness to the Delaware Valley through events that help to promote and support cultural diversity. One of those being the Asian Festival (AsianFest) on Philadelphia’s historical Penn’s Landing. Other current titles include Community Advisory Board Member of the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation and member of Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett’s Asian American and Pacific Advisory Committee.

As the President, Joe plans to promote NAAAP’s mission and vision to its members and volunteers through offering high quality events and programs throughout the year and beyond. Joe truly believes that NAAAP Philly can be a shining example for all of its fellow chapters and ventures, by embracing professionalism not only in the workplace, but also throughout all of the aspects throughout one’s life. He embraces what makes us individuals, but also accepts that he is an ambassador for the Asian American professional. It is a role that he does not take lightly and he strives to elevate those around him. He looks forward to meeting new people and is very excited for NAAAP Philadelphia and its potential because of its recent new structure and current leadership.

Lori is a Managing Associate of Creative Financial Group, a boutique financial service firm in Newtown Square, PA. She delivers comprehensive financial solutions and provides wealth management needs to the clients. She specializes in planning for business owners, successful individuals and families. She has Series 7 & 66, and she is working on her CFP designation.

Lori Co-founded NAAAP Philadelphia in 2004. She currently serves as Executive Vice President and National Representative.

Lori has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marketing from DeSales University and a Master’s of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from La Salle University. In her spare time, she devotes lots of energy to non-profit organizations in the Philadelphia area. She is on the Advisory Board of the Asian American Women’s Coalition, promoting the advancement of Asian American women through leadership and mutual support. She also serves on the Advisory Panel of Families with Children from China, Delaware Valley Chapter, focusing on culture, language, mentoring, and identity issues. In addition, she is on the diversity committee of the American Red Cross (Penn Jersey Region) and Asian advisory committee of the American Cancer Society (PA Division Southeast Region).

Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Lori moved to the US in 1995. She travels frequently between the US and Taiwan to spend time with family and friends. Lori’s hobbies include playing a variety of sports such as volleyball, swimming, and working out at the gym. She also enjoys reading, dining out, traveling, and simply spending quality time with loved ones.

Architect Tuong Huynh is an Associate and shareholder of Partridge Architects, a full-service architecture, planning and design firm specializing in interiors for the commercial market, and located in center city Philadelphia.

During Tuong’s long tenure with the firm he has handled a wide variety of projects including brew pubs Public House/Washington DC and Tap House/Philadelphia; non-profits Police Athletic League, The Association for Independent Growth and NHS Human Services; The Grande condominium; and projects for the City of Philadelphia including the Office of the District Attorney and the Public Defender’s Office.

Tuong graduated from Temple University with a BS in Architecture. He is a LEED-Accredited professional, and has served as Guest Critic at Drexel University, Temple University, Philadelphia University and Moore College of Art & Design. Tuong also serves on the Advisory Board of Young Real Estate Professionals.

David manages a project management office supporting consumer credit products including credit cards and consumer unsecured loans. He has been with the bank for 15 years and has held various management and analytical roles primarily supporting credit card product management and call center management. David is also a co-chair for the Asian Leadership Network Delaware Valley Chapter, a local employee resource group within Bank of America for associates in the Philadelphia, Delaware and Baltimore markets. He is also a part of the leadership team for the bank’s local Diversity Network.

Carol Wong has been an advisory board member since NAAAP Philadelphia was founded in 2004. Carol is the Director and owner of the Chinatown Learning Center, a bilingual preschool and after school program that she founded 16 years ago. As Vice-President and Executive Board Member for the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC), Carol addresses affordable housing and community development issues in Chinatown. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Asian American Women's Coalition (AAWC), which promotes the advancement of Asian American women through leadership and mutual support. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia SUNS, a youth basketball and Lion Dance organization, and On Lok House, a senior housing and community center. Carol proudly serves on the Board for the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC). She is also a member of Soroptomist International of Indian Rock, an organization focused on making a difference for women through volunteer service.

Carol looks forward to working with and mentoring other NAAAP members to help the organization grow.

Jenny Wong has been a member of NAAAP-Philadelphia for several years and has served in the capacity of Advisory Board member for the past two years. She was the past President of the Asian American Women's Coalition (2004-2005) and now serves as a Board member. She has served as the Secretary of OCA-Greater Philadelphia (Organization of Chinese Americans) for the past four years. Jenny is particularly interested in for and non-profit organizations that improve the lives of Asian Americans living in the greater Philadelphia area. She has been working at a large pharmaceutical company (#5 in volume) for the past 11 years and lives in PA.

Ms. Woo has oversight of SEI Global Fixed Income Management’s credit process. Ms. Woo is also responsible for reviewing and monitoring new and existing credits and making investment recommendations for the Fixed Income Management Team. Prior to joining SEI, Ms. Woo was a Senior Credit Analyst with John Hancock Money Market Group focusing on investment grade and asset-backed securities and a Senior Business Analyst within Liberty Mutual Group’s Strategy and Planning Group for Corporate Real Estate and Administration. Ms. Woo graduated Magna Cum Laude; earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and her MBA from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

While in Boston, she was an active member of NAAAP Boston and served as PR and Marketing Chair, Board Member and President. Currently, she is an active member of the Board of Directors for NAAAP Philadelphia focusing on Corporate Relations.

Min Yoo attended her first NAAAP Philly Event three years ago and has since been a supporter and fan of it’s mission statement. Through the years, she attended both Seattle (2006) and Atlanta (2007) NAAAP National Conventions and has seen Philadelphia’s Venture grow into a Chapter. It is a rewarding experience for her to see the non-profit organization making leaders in the community and being apart of this effective change and growth. She has participated and planned several events with the professional development committee and looks forward to members continuing to benefit from the programs and innovative ideas and events that enhance, empower, and advance the success of the individual and the greater good of the group.

Hyun is an Events Supervisor for Merion Publications, INC., a Healthcare magazine publisher. In 2004, Hyun was recruited to join the Philadelphia chapter of National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP). In 2005, she was asked to join the Board and serve as the Membership Committee Chair. In 2006, Hyun co-chaired the NAAAP National Retreat held in Philadelphia. In 2008, Hyun served as the National Representative of NAAAP Philadelphia. Currently, Hyun serves as the Vice President of Corporate Relations.

Hyun has also served on the boards of: Asian American Women’s Coalition (AAWC) from 2004 – 2008, Asian Arts Initiative (AAI) from 2006 – 2007, Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art from 2006 - now, and Philadelphia Cultural Fund from 2007 - now.

Hyun has always volunteered with her church growing up and often organizes events and community efforts at her church. She has participated in Habitat for Humanity in South Korea in summer of 2001 and in New Orleans, LA in summer of 2008. In 2006, Hyun was an Emerging Leader Finalist for eWomenNetwork Foundation.

Steven Suh currently works for Shire Pharmaceuticals as a supply chain manager optimizing the inventory levels and distribution channels of one of Shire’s key corporate brands. He previously worked at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals as a supply chain planner for its Oncology portfolio and developed valuable experience managing some of AstraZeneca’s top contract customers. Steven graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Business Administration and specialization in Marketing.

Aside from NAAAP, Steven is actively involved as a Board member for the Main Line Chinese Cultural Center. With a mission to foster the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture and heritages, the Main Line Chinese Culture has been thriving with 300+ students and has plans to expand beyond the Main Line area.

As Assistant Vice President of Corporate Relations, Steven will assist the VP of Corporate Relations by establishing long-term partnerships with local corporations and providing professional development activities for NAAAP Philadelphia’s members.

Michelle R. Wong is a fourth generation Philadelphian. Upon graduating college, Michelle was a Program Intern at the Asian Arts Initiative, a community arts center in Philadelphia. She then worked in the Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) as the Director of Community and Legislative Affairs for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (WHIAAPI). In this capacity, Michelle linked community-based organizations with federal resources and Congressional partners. Michelle is currently an Assistant Director of Recruitment at Drexel University, coordinating student outreach, prospect management, and marketing for secondary and tertiary markets. This past fall, Michelle worked with APIAVote and the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance to coordinate a nonpartisan Get Out the Vote effort that reached out to over 8,000 infrequent Asian American voters in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. In addition to NAAAP Philadelphia, Michelle is also involved with the Chinatown Learning Center and Variety—The Children's Charity. Wine, food, and the arts are among her favorite things, and she can thank NAAAP for introducing her to whitewater rafting. She attended Cornell University, where she received bachelor degrees in Sociology and Community-Based Initiatives, with concentrations in Inequality and Asian American Studies. Michelle also studied at University of California, Berkeley through the Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship.

Esther Lee is currently a project manager at Chatham Financial Corporation, a global derivatives consulting firm. In this role, she improved the company's risk management accountability structure to reduce documentation risk by over 95%. Previous to her current role as project manager, Esther worked as a consultant, advising Opportunity Funds and Private Equity firms. As a consultant, Esther managed a foreign exchange spot program, executing foreign exchange trades ranging in notional from USD 1 million to USD 1 billion.

Outside of work, Esther serves as a Committee Person for the 5th Ward, 24th Division of the City of Philadelphia. She is also the young alumni representative for the Philadelphia chapter of her college alumni club.

Esther graduated summa cum laude from Wheaton College (IL) with a B.S. in Mathematics and Sociology. During her tenure at Wheaton, she was elected to serve one term as Student Body President.

Hoan Thai is an engineer for the Philadelphia Gas Works, a utility company that provides natural gas for over 500,000 customers within Philadelphia’s boundaries. Along with working full time, Hoan is pursuing a M.S. in Financial Engineering to compliment his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Temple University. Hoan is also an alumnus of Beta Pi Phi Fraternity. He has been an active member of NAAAP-Philadelphia since 2007 and in 2008 became the co-chair for the sports and social committee. In 2009 he became the Vice President of Entrepreneur business unit.

As NAAAP’s Vice President of Entrepreneur, Hoan is determined to make his mark. For 2009, Hoan plans to make his business unit one that adds significant value to the members. Work shops, seminars and guest speakers are just some of the many plans he will implement over the following year. Most of these activities are ones Hoan currently participates in so it was only natural that he implement them at NAAAP. As both the Entrepreneur business unit and NAAAP evolves, we can expect to see some exciting things. As for the rest of 2009 and beyond, Hoan plans to continue to promote NAAAP among the Asian American community. He believes that Asian Americans possess all the necessary skills to become great leaders and with networks like NAAAP, such aspirations are easily within reach.

Kristy Leong graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a double major in Economics and Biological Basis of Behavior. It was in college that she got involved with an online magazine for college women that she learned effective ways of reaching out to college students locally and nationally. She also held a Public Relations internship where she garnered numerous press placements for clients from the Tri-State area.

Currently, Kristy is working at an interactive advertising agency in the Strategy and Insights department. Prior to this, Kristy had 3 years of experience at a leading consumer packaged good company as a sales analyst and planner for national market mover accounts. While there, she received a Leadership Award from the company for promoting diversity in the workplace with monthly events that celebrated minority groups.

She is very excited for her post as VP of Education for NAAAP as it falls directly in line with all her prior experience in student outreach and marketing. Her goal for Education is to create at least one impactful event in 2009 for students focusing on student and professional leadership. As Director of Public Relations, her goal is to increase the awareness of NAAAP in the Tri State area, particularly via the online channel.

Erica Chen is currently a traffic coordinator at Bank of America’s in-house advertising agency, Enterprise Creative Solutions. In this role, she oversees the details and processes behind each project in an effort to maximize efficiency and mitigate project risk, engaging in the agency workflow from the beginning and seeing every job to its completion. She is also the communications lead for the Asian Leadership Network Delaware Valley Chapter, a local employee resource group within the bank where she manages their website, newsletters, as well as all forms of advertising. Previous to her current role, she had interned for the Ronald McDonald House and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.

Erica graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Mass Communications and a minor in Chinese. She was extremely involved with the Asian community serving as President of the Chinese Cultural Student Association and VP of the Taekwondo Club, along with emceeing at several cultural shows.

As Director of Member Services, she is looking forward to find ways to grow and strengthen NAAAP by recruiting and retaining the best of the best Asian professionals and students that Philadelphia has to offer.

George is originally from Central NJ, doing his graduate and undergraduate work at Rutgers University with a Master's Degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. He now works as a research scientist at Johnson & Johnson in their rigorous Drug Discovery program. Being new to the Philadelphia Area, George joined NAAAP in early 2008 seeking to build a rich diverse network of Asian peers. He quickly became involved with the Sports & Social committee and began organizing and coordinating sporting and social events. This gave members a chance to interact and network in a less formal atmosphere and generated opportunities for members to create memorable experiences together. His play hard, work hard style and charmingly disarming attitude makes him quite a character on the team. As events coordinator, George will interface with all the VPs to ensure everyone delivers exciting new programs and events. He will also oversee the development and employment of online tools, ie Facebook and Meetup. In his off time, George enjoys snowboarding, vegetating with Video Games, eating like a crazed hyena, and talking/typing about himself.

Lingan is a Sr. Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin focused on design, implementation and deployment of software for large scale programs. Along with 10 years of professional experience, Lingan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Lehigh University and a M.S. in Information Science from Penn State. Prior to working at Lockheed Martin, Lingan held positions at Ikea North America and Accenture.

Lingan's experience with non-profits range from a board member of The Cancer Aid Society of the Philadelphia Area to Vice-President, National Representative, and Webmaster for NAAAP Philadelphia.

In his free time, Lingan enjoys golf, traveling, eating out and (most of all) relaxing. Born and rasied in Philadelphia, Lingan now currently resides in San Jose, CA.
